8 West 10th Street
Peru, IN 46970

Formal, traditional dining rooms with fresh flowers are housed in two vintage rail cars and the former Shelburne's Grocers attached to them. The Siding is famous for its good coffee and homemade hummingbird cake, cheesecake, cakes and tender crusted pies. The menu is classic, with spinach and Oriental chicken salads, pastas, flat iron steaks and prime rib, Chicken Oscar, and pan-fried walleyed pike. Sandwiches include the Klub Kar (turkey and bacon) and thick-cut panko-breaded pork tenderloin. Proprietor Ron Short opened the Siding in 1969 and it has become a Peru landmark.
Open Tues. - Fri. 11 am - 2 pm, for lunch and Tues. - Sat. 4:30 - 9 pm for dinner.
