Jane is a freelance writer who specializes in travel, food, and personalities who writes frequently for the Northwest Indiana Times, Chicago Life Magazine, the Grand Rapids Press, AAA Home & Away, Northern Indiana Lakes, Experience Curacao, Experience Rivera Maya, Mexico Connect, the Cincinnati Enquirer and other newspapers and magazines She recently has done profiles on Morgan Freeman, Kyra Sedgwick, Holly Hunter, Cheech Marin, Margaret Cho, Mitch Albom, Robert Wagner, Arianna Huffington, Ellen DeGeneris, Mitch Albom and Madeleine Albright. Jane also has written six books including Brown County Indiana and Indiana’s Lincolnland about Abraham Lincoln’s Southern Indiana childhood. She writes a weekly food column for a newspaper in Southwest Michigan and is a member of the Indiana Foodways Alliance, a restaurant reviewer for Gayot.com and is also a James Beard Foundation judge. Jane likes historic travel, out of the way locations, taking an unusual look at everyday destinations and exploring the culinary heritage of the places she visits.
