Jizhong Chen, China

My name is Chen Jizhong (Jerry). I’m a junior computer science student at Ball State University. I’m familiar with using Java, C++ and databases (Access, MySQL). I have some experience with building Web sites, game designing and maintain databases. I’m also a good tutor of Asian food. I think my skills can help the team organize the data well and find more delicious Asian food.

I was born in China. China is an incredible country, especially the food. There are many types of foods in China. There are eight main regional cuisines in China. Anhui, Cantonese, Fujian, Hunan, Jiangsu, Shandong, Szechuan, Zhejiang. My hometown is Suzhou, Jiangsu. It is the center of one of main regional cuisines (Jiangsu).

In childhood, I enjoyed many orthodox Jiangsu foods in my hometown. I love the Chinese food. I am a crazy addict of Chinese food. I lived in China for 20 years. I’ve been to many parts of China and enjoyed the local conditions and food in each region. I also learned how to cook Chinese food. Now I’m good at cooking Chinese food.

When I came to United States, I found there are so many foods in the other part of world. Most food is quite different from Chinese food. I began enjoying the food here. When I heard there is a program that related to food, I wanted to join this group immediately. My favorite foods are very diverse. I like mashed potatoes and Yeung Chow fried rice.
